rainx unveils 5G router range for mobile operators

Today

rainx has introduced the101 range of 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) routers targeted at Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).

The new series includes the101 and the101 Pro 5G smart routers, the101 Xtender smart mesh Wi-Fi extender, and the101 Loop, a portable 5G router. These products aim to assist operators in improving network quality, reducing customer turnover, and creating new revenue streams from 5G technologies.

These devices are designed to be easy to install and provide operators with live information through rainx's platform, theStation. TheStation allows operators to make proactive decisions on network coverage and capacity based on detailed insights into network and customer usage patterns.

Commenting on the launch, Brandon Leigh, Founder and Director of rainx, stated, "Through smart hardware and services, we're partnering with MNOs and MVNOs to unlock the potential of 5G. Our ecosystem empowers operators to monetise latent 5G capacity, create new revenue streams, and address the shift from spiky mobile traffic to high, steady usage at fixed locations."

Leigh further emphasised the potential for operators to generate return on investment (ROI) from 5G by highlighting rainx's Customer Edge approach, which provides deep insights necessary for network management and customer experience optimisation.

Designed with the modern telco market in mind, the101 range provides a comprehensive solution through its design: doubling as network probes and integrating directly with theStation for real-time data collection. The products cater to various consumer and operator needs, such as connectivity within large spaces and multimedia capabilities for premium services.

Among the products, the101 Pro 5G router is aimed at high-demand users, featuring advanced hardware powered by the MediaTek T830 platform, enabling download speeds of up to 7 Gbps. This model features customisable skins and advanced functionalities like a "Tap for Support" feature, allowing direct communication via the device's touch screen with service providers.

The 101 Pro's built-in speed test contributes to the Station's managed services, which aim to provide optimised device management and service quality while reducing operational costs.

The101 smart router, a mid-range option, offers similar communication features, powered by MediaTek's T750 platform, providing AX3600 Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

For expanded coverage, the101 Xtender Smart Mesh Wi-Fi extender integrates with existing router setups to enhance 5G signals across larger premises. The101 Loop, a portable router equipped with 5G and multimedia capabilities, targets consumers who require connectivity on the move.

Leigh also noted the consumer benefits of the range: "For customers, the 101range allows them to blend their aesthetic preferences with beautiful customisable skins, alongside high-performance engineering. The range also offers intuitive self-service features, allowing customers to easily monitor and control their 101, reducing the need for support calls and creating a seamless, hands-on user experience that truly puts the power in their hands."
