Advantai Group has signed an exclusive 10-year agreement with One NZ to support the launch and operation of mobile virtual network operators on the New Zealand carrier's network. Boost Mobile New Zealand will be the first brand to launch under the arrangement.

Under the agreement, Advantai's managed services arm, Prvidr NZ, will provide the platform, billing, customer management and operations for MVNOs using the framework. It extends a commercial relationship between the two companies that began a little over a year ago.

The deal gives Advantai a central role in a segment of the New Zealand mobile market that One NZ says is gaining traction as consumers seek more choice. It also gives Boost Mobile New Zealand a route to market through One NZ's network without having to build its own mobile infrastructure.

"Deals of this length aren't signed lightly. This one reflects the confidence One NZ and Advantai Group have built together and a shared belief that the next wave of growth in New Zealand mobile will come from established consumer brands," said David Joss, Chief Executive Officer of Advantai Group.

"This agreement is the foundation for everything that comes next. Boost Mobile New Zealand is the first brand to launch under it, but it won't be the last. There is significant demand from brands that see mobile as a natural extension of their customer relationships," Joss said.

One NZ said MVNOs are becoming a more important part of the market as brands look to build mobile offers for specific customer groups. It described the partnership as a way to support more entrants on its network.

"For One NZ, there's real potential in enabling more of those brands to enter the mobile market and innovate on top of our network. Our partnership with Advantai Group gives us a platform to support that growth at scale, and ultimately that means more choice and more compelling mobile experiences for New Zealanders. We're excited to see Boost Mobile launch in New Zealand as the first brand under this new partnership and bring its challenger spirit and a fresh proposition to Kiwi consumers," said Murray Osborne, General Manager of Infrastructure Partners at One NZ.

Group structure

Advantai operates through three businesses across Australia and New Zealand. Fastter works on brand proposition and commercial model development, Staqr provides telecommunications and subscription software, and Prvidr handles end-to-end operations.

Keeping those functions within one group allows consumer brands to enter the mobile market without relying on multiple suppliers, according to Advantai. The model is aimed at established brands seeking to add mobile services to existing customer relationships.

"Because all the capabilities our customers need sit within the group, a brand like Boost can launch with the reach of a major carrier at a fraction of the usual cost and time. Prvidr NZ is delighted to support Boost Mobile New Zealand's entry into the market, and we look forward to getting started," Joss said.

Boost launch

Boost Mobile New Zealand is independently owned and operated. The business was co-founded by Chief Executive Officer Jason Haynes and Boost Mobile founder Peter Adderton.

Haynes said the New Zealand business was being built locally rather than copied directly from other markets. He described the venture as drawing on the Boost brand's history while tailoring the offer to New Zealand consumers.

"This is a brand and business built for New Zealand consumers. I've had the backing of Peter and the original Boost Mobile founders to carry that same challenger spirit into what we're building, but how we show up for Kiwis is something we're building ourselves, from the ground up," said Jason Haynes, Chief Executive Officer of Boost Mobile New Zealand.

Advantai entered New Zealand in 2025 with a mobile enablement and revenue-share model intended to help consumer brands launch mobile services without taking on the full cost and regulatory burden of building telecoms infrastructure. The latest agreement marks a further step in that expansion strategy.

The group has also added senior executives in recent months. Ben Dobbin joined as Chief Operating Officer of Prvidr after roles at Symbio and Uniti Group, while Julian Dell was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Staqr following technology leadership positions including at amaysim.

The One NZ agreement places Advantai at the centre of a long-term MVNO framework in New Zealand, with Boost Mobile New Zealand as the first test of how far consumer brands can extend into mobile services through outsourced network operations.
