Advantai Group has signed an exclusive 10-year agreement with One NZ to support mobile virtual network operators in New Zealand, with Boost Mobile New Zealand the first brand to launch under the arrangement.

The deal will be delivered through Prvidr NZ, Advantai's managed services business, which will provide the platform, billing, customer management and operational support for Boost Mobile New Zealand.

The agreement extends a commercial relationship that began just over a year ago. It gives One NZ a long-term partner to bring third-party mobile brands onto its network, while giving Advantai a path to expand its New Zealand business through a pipeline of consumer-facing MVNO launches.

Mobile virtual network operators sell services using the infrastructure of an established network owner rather than building their own network. In this case, One NZ will provide the underlying network, while Prvidr NZ will handle the systems and day-to-day operations needed to run the retail mobile offer.

David Joss, Chief Executive Officer of Advantai Group, said the length of the agreement reflected the commitment on both sides.

"Deals of this length aren't signed lightly. This one reflects the confidence One NZ and Advantai Group have built together and a shared belief that the next wave of growth in New Zealand mobile will come from established consumer brands," Joss said.

He said the arrangement was intended to support more than a single launch.

"This agreement is the foundation for everything that comes next. Boost Mobile New Zealand is the first brand to launch under it, but it won't be the last. There is significant demand from brands that see mobile as a natural extension of their customer relationships," Joss said.

One NZ said MVNOs are becoming a more important part of the local market as consumers look for offers tailored to different needs and preferences. It described the partnership as a way to widen the number of brands that can enter mobile without owning network assets.

"For One NZ, there's real potential in enabling more of those brands to enter the mobile market and innovate on top of our network. Our partnership with Advantai Group gives us a platform to support that growth at scale, and ultimately that means more choice and more compelling mobile experiences for New Zealanders. We're excited to see Boost Mobile launch in New Zealand as the first brand under this new partnership and bring its challenger spirit and a fresh proposition to Kiwi consumers," Osborne said.

Integrated model

Advantai operates through three businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Fastter develops the commercial proposition for partner brands, Staqr provides the core software platform used to run telecoms and subscription services, and Prvidr manages operations.

The company argues that keeping proposition design, software and operations within one group simplifies market entry for brands that want to launch mobile services. The approach is aimed at brands seeking a faster route into the sector without having to manage several suppliers or invest in their own telecoms infrastructure.

"Because all the capabilities our customers need sit within the group, a brand like Boost can launch with the reach of a major carrier at a fraction of the usual cost and time. Prvidr NZ is delighted to support Boost Mobile New Zealand's entry into the market, and we look forward to getting started," Joss said.

Boost launch

Boost Mobile New Zealand is described as an independently owned and operated business. It was co-founded by Chief Executive Officer Jason Haynes and Boost Mobile founder Peter Adderton.

Haynes said the New Zealand business would take its own approach to the market while drawing on the wider brand's history.

"This is a brand and business built for New Zealand consumers. I've had the backing of Peter and the original Boost Mobile founders to carry that same challenger spirit into what we're building, but how we show up for Kiwis is something we're building ourselves, from the ground up," Haynes said.

Advantai entered the New Zealand market in July 2025 with a model designed to help established consumer brands launch mobile services. The offer was designed to reduce the time, cost and regulatory burden often associated with entering telecommunications.

The latest agreement marks a significant step in that expansion. It also places Advantai in a central role in One NZ's effort to develop a broader MVNO ecosystem, with Boost Mobile New Zealand serving as the first test of that model in practice.

Advantai has also recently expanded its leadership team, appointing Ben Dobbin as Chief Operating Officer of Prvidr and Julian Dell as Chief Technology Officer of Staqr. Dobbin previously held senior roles at Symbio and Uniti Group, while Dell spent eight years at amaysim, including as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
