Holafly launches Ultra Plan with support for travellers

Holafly has launched the Ultra Plan for its global eSIM subscription in Australia, adding health, wellbeing and travel disruption support to its mobile data service.
The monthly plan includes unlimited data in more than 160 destinations, unlimited hotspot use and a local phone number. It also offers 24/7 doctor chat, unlimited mental wellbeing sessions, nutrition and personal training support, online vet advice, flight claim support, luggage protection and round-the-clock customer support.
Aimed at frequent travellers and people spending longer periods abroad, including remote workers and students, the subscription is priced at about AUD $136.14 a month.
The launch expands Holafly Plans, which already includes Light and Unlimited tiers. Ultra combines connectivity with support services that travellers might otherwise need to arrange through multiple providers.
Traveller concerns
Research cited by Holafly highlights several issues facing frequent and long-stay travellers. It found that 47.5% had delayed or avoided seeking medical care while abroad, while 32.3% felt isolated from their usual social or emotional support network.
The same research found that 65.8% had experienced at least one significant flight disruption in the past year. Another 46.3% said their baggage had been lost or significantly delayed.
Those findings help explain the mix of services in the new package. Alongside internet access, the plan is intended to address problems that can arise when travellers are outside their usual support systems and navigating unfamiliar healthcare and transport arrangements.
The medical support centres on access to doctor advice at any time of day. The wellbeing element offers sessions with mental health professionals, while the lifestyle component includes nutrition and personal training support for travellers trying to maintain routines while moving between countries.
Travel disruption support is another part of the package. Subscribers can receive help with eligible compensation claims linked to flight disruptions, while luggage protection covers claims involving lost, delayed or damaged baggage.
A dedicated international number is included so customers can receive incoming SMS messages, including verification codes from compatible services, through the Holafly app or by email. The feature addresses a practical difficulty some travellers face when relying on data-only travel SIM products.
Subscription push
The Ultra Plan also reflects a broader push by travel connectivity providers to move beyond selling data in single destinations. Subscription models are becoming more common as operators target customers who cross borders regularly and want one plan that works across multiple markets.
For Holafly, adding support services gives the subscription a broader proposition than a standard connectivity package. Rather than focusing only on data use, it is aiming to appeal to travellers who want help with health, administration and disruption while abroad.
The service is available to Australian customers. Holafly operates in more than 200 destinations overall, though the Ultra Plan's unlimited data allowance applies in more than 160.
Metin Kastro, Chief Operating Officer at Holafly, said the company designed the new tier around the everyday problems travellers can face when they are away from home for extended periods.
"Being able to work from anywhere does not mean everyday worries disappear. Getting sick, feeling overwhelmed or dealing with a cancelled flight can be harder when you are far from familiar support," said Metin Kastro, Chief Operating Officer at Holafly.
"With Ultra, we are extending our promise of peace of mind, helping travellers stay online and giving them someone to turn to when they need support," Kastro said.
