Orange Business names Edmond Wong Asia-Pacific President

Thu, 2nd Apr 2026

Orange Business has appointed Edmond Wong as President for Asia-Pacific, succeeding Nick Lambert, who is retiring after leading the region for nearly seven years.

Wong takes on the role after serving as Head of Business Management APAC since 2020, as Orange Business reshapes its regional leadership.

The appointment marks a handover at the top of the Asia-Pacific business, where Lambert led the company through a period of global disruption and internal transformation. Orange Business said his tenure left the regional operation in a stronger position across its markets.

Based in Singapore, Wong brings 15 years of experience in business, leadership and transformation roles at large international organisations. He has lived and worked in Singapore, Melbourne, Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing, giving him experience in the region's multicultural operating environment.

Before becoming president, he led business management for Asia-Pacific and worked on regional and corporate programmes spanning sales, marketing and go-to-market strategy. That work included projects across the region, with a focus on profitability, stakeholder management, regional expansion and operational change.

Leadership shift

Lambert's departure closes a chapter for Orange Business in Asia-Pacific. During his tenure, the regional business navigated what the company described as a complex global landscape while undergoing transformation and delivering annual performance improvements.

Orange Business did not disclose financial details alongside the management change, but the appointment points to an emphasis on continuity and regional execution. By promoting from within rather than hiring externally, the group appears focused on maintaining strategic direction while changing leadership.

The internal succession also gives Orange Business a leader already familiar with its customers, regional structure and management processes. In multinational technology and communications businesses, those factors can be especially important in Asia-Pacific, where operations often span mature markets and fast-growing economies with distinct regulatory and commercial conditions.

Wong is expected to oversee the next phase of the company's regional operations, including transformation efforts and partner engagement. His remit includes helping drive the next stage of the Asia-Pacific business journey and expanding strategic relationships.

Regional role

Asia-Pacific remains a competitive market for business services, with providers pursuing growth from multinational clients, public sector work and digital transformation projects. Leadership changes in the region often reflect the need to balance local market knowledge with global alignment, especially for operators managing broad portfolios across connectivity, cloud, cyber security and communications services.

Orange Business has not outlined a new public strategy alongside the appointment, but Wong's background suggests continued focus on internal coordination and market development. His experience across sales and marketing programmes points to a role that will require both commercial oversight and regional management discipline.

His career path within Orange Business also highlights the company's preference for promoting from within its Asia-Pacific leadership ranks. That can help preserve operational continuity during a transition, particularly when a departing executive has held the top regional role for several years.

For customers and partners, the immediate effect is likely to be stability rather than abrupt change. Wong has already been part of the senior regional leadership team, meaning the handover is taking place between two executives with an existing working relationship.

Commenting on his appointment and Lambert's retirement, Wong said: "I'm deeply grateful to the Orange Business management team for their trust and faith in me to lead the APAC region. Over the next few months, I look forward to immersing myself in the different APAC markets' challenges and needs, meeting customers and collaborating with partners, expanding into new areas, and ensuring we continue to build momentum for the region.

"I sincerely thank Nick for his guidance, support and valuable advice from his time as President of APAC through this transition period before his retirement. We share a special bond, and I hope to continue his legacy and build on his outstanding achievements," said Wong.
