Superloop announces AUD $20 million deals in student housing

Thu, 4th Jul 2024

Superloop has announced the signing of three significant partnerships within its Smart Communities division.

The agreements are valued at more than AUD $20 million and will service over 13,000 beds in the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sector.

Among the key contracts, Journal Student Living has selected Superloop as the exclusive provider for its new student accommodation portfolio. This move marks a notable expansion in Superloop’s reach within the student housing market.

Campus Living Villages (CLV) has also renewed its existing contract with Superloop for another five years. The renewed agreement also grants Superloop exclusivity on all new CLV sites during the contract period, covering 4,500 existing beds and additional projects in the pipeline.

Superloop has also secured a partnership with Exal for its upcoming student accommodation development in Perth, which will feature over 900 beds and is scheduled to open in 2026. Furthermore, Superloop has been appointed as the Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) Statutory Infrastructure Provider for other residential multi-dwelling unit (MDU) opportunities managed by Global Student Accommodation’s (GSA) Yugo.

Jonathon Runge, Superloop’s Principal Director of Smart Communities, expressed his enthusiasm about these new partnerships. "We’re thrilled to have been selected by Journal Student Living and Exal, and to have expanded our partnership with Campus Living Villages."

"Our goal has been to build genuine partnerships with our customers and to support them as they develop premium accommodation tailored to the evolving needs and habits of students," Runge said.

"PBSA operators rightly demand innovation, technology, and seamless reliability for their customers. Students are unique consumers, with above-average needs for performance, uptime and support," he added.

"These latest partnerships underscore Superloop's position as a leading provider in the student accommodation sector, and we look forward to delivering exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders."

The Smart Communities division of Superloop evolved from the acquisition of VostroNet and the former Superloop Managed Wi-Fi operations.

Superloop focuses on enhancing internet connectivity and services for Australian homes and businesses through substantial investments in physical infrastructure such as fibre, subsea cables, and fixed wireless networks, as well as advanced software platforms.
