Netmore Group expands operations to Asia Pacific market

Fri, 17th May 2024

Netmore Group, a key player in the global LoRaWAN network services sector, has declared its intention to extend its operations to the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The company is seeking to seize upon the escalating demands for IoT services across utility, municipal, and enterprise firms. It follows Netmore's strategic acquisition of US-based LoRaWAN operator, Senet, earlier in the year that extended its market beyond Europe.

The Swedish company will utilise its customer-centric strategy to offer cost-effective, scalable connectivity support for extensive IoT deployments through its Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model. Such an approach will support mobile operators, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and system integrators in APAC, expediting their digital transformation efforts.

The APAC expansion will be guided by Lim Perng, who has been appointed as head of Sales for the region. With 15 years in the telecoms industry and a successful record in driving growth via strategic partnerships, Lim is expected to steer the company's joint market initiatives with tower companies and infrastructure providers across key markets in APAC. This will bolster service delivery and minimise network costs.

Netmore's expansion forms part of a broader strategy to cater to the growing demand for sensor-based monitoring and energy management solutions aimed at utilities and municipal infrastructure. The move follows its acquisition of Senet in February 2024, which built on its already significant European carrier grade networks in eleven markets.

"Netmore is very well positioned to become a major disruptor in how IoT connectivity is delivered at a time when deployments are beginning to scale across the globe. I'm thrilled to be joining the organization as the company expands. I look forward to working with the Netmore team and our partners across the ecosystem to provide the connectivity solutions that enable customers to achieve sustainable business success," said Lim Perng.

To ensure continuous service delivery improvements and cost-effectiveness, Netmore transitions into the APAC market equipped with a tested strategy. It involves leveraging its PaaS to offer future-proof network connectivity designed to support considerable IoT deployments.

The strategy also extends to partnering with tower companies and other infrastructure providers in selected markets to deliver joint business development activities. This approach is tuned to providing a cost-effective and predictable structure for MNOs, OEMs, and System Integrators endeavouring to extend their offerings.

Ove Anebygd, CEO of Netmore Group AB said, "The coming years are going to be extraordinary for the IoT market, and we are excited to have Lim joining us to contribute to our next stage of growth. Lim's experience managing high-performing teams across multiple countries and his understanding of how to support operator and enterprise customers through their digital transformation journey will be a significant asset to our organization."
