Launtel has secured a new contract with Superloop, promising to enhance capacity, resilience and reliability for their National Broadband Network (NBN) customers across Australia. Superloop will provide v-NNI (Virtual Network-to-Network Interface) and Physical Backhaul services to 118 NBN Points of Interconnect (POI) around the country as part of the three-year agreement, valued at over $5 million.
Launtel Chief Technology Officer Damian Ivereigh spoke about the significance of this partnership, stating that "This backhaul forms an integral part of Launtel's expanding national network of intercap links, DC POPS, peering and IP transit." This deal marks a significant step in Launtel's ongoing expansion efforts across Australia.
Adding to Ivereigh's comments, Superloop's Group Executive of Business and Wholesale, Daisey Stampfer, underlined Launtel's commitment to speed, reliability, and flexibility, making the pair a fruitful partnership. Additionally, Stampfer mentioned that "Superloop has a long-stated goal to lead challenger brands to a 30% market share here in Australia, and this wholesale backhaul partnership with Launtel helps deliver exactly that."
Besides ensuring reliable services for its existing customer base, Launtel also aims to make an impression in the ACCC's quarterly Measuring Broadband Australia Report. Launtel CEO Adam Poulton stated that the company has consistently topped the list since its first appearance in the December 2022 report. He added, "We hope to continue improving these statistics over the coming months with the additional reliability of the backhaul network built on the Superloop Wholesale dual links to all NBN POIs."
This partnership holds significant potential for both companies and for Australia's NBN customers. Superloop's commitment to enabling a more robust and reliable internet service further validates this. In closing, Stampfer stated, "We've seen Australians refreshing their internet in droves, switching to challenger ISPs like Launtel that deliver a great experience by prioritising customer service, providing flexible contract-free plans, fast speeds, and importantly, reliability."
