Extreme Networks expands AI focus with rollout, summit & leadership

Fri, 24th Oct 2025

Extreme Networks has outlined a series of developments designed to advance its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, including the rollout of its AI Service Agent for all Extreme Platform ONE customers and the appointment of Nabil Bukhari as President of AI Platforms.

AI Service Agent rollout

The company is building on its introduction of Extreme Platform ONE, a platform developed to incorporate agentic, multimodal, and conversational AI into network management. Extreme has now confirmed that all Extreme Platform ONE customers are able to access the Extreme Service Agent.

This service agent focuses on streamlining management of enterprise networks by automating a range of administrative and support tasks. The system is built to handle evidence collection, ticket creation, and case management. According to Extreme, this automation can reduce manual efforts by as much as 95%, improving issue resolution speeds and allowing IT staff to prioritise more strategic initiatives.

Extreme describes these moves as a way to redefine operational efficiency in enterprise networking. The company highlights industry analysis as supporting this direction. IDC, in its report "Automation and AI in EMEA Enterprise Networks," stated: "Extreme Networks has emerged as a leader in AI-powered network management with its Extreme Platform ONE, a cutting-edge platform designed to address the complexities of modern networking."

Leadership changes

Nabil Bukhari, who serves as Chief Technology Officer, will assume additional responsibilities as President of AI Platforms. Bukhari will continue to lead product development, research and development, the Office of the CTO, and the subscription business. He will now also be responsible for driving wider adoption of Extreme Platform ONE and furthering the company's AI initiatives as part of his expanded brief.

"At Extreme, we don't see AI as an add-on, but as intelligence that powers our entire portfolio. We're building agentic systems that don't just respond; they think, adapt, and create value continuously. Our investments in AI are delivering immediate value while redefining how enterprises connect, operate, and grow for decades to come. AI isn't a feature of the future; it's the force shaping what comes next," said Nabil Bukhari, CTO and President of AI Platforms at Extreme.

Ed Meyercord, President and CEO of Extreme, commented on the company's AI focus in support of these recent moves. Meyercord stated: "At Extreme, we're investing in AI to power the new era of networking. By making it the nucleus of our products and solutions and using it to drive our own business forward, we're delivering networks that are faster, more automated, and more responsive to customer needs. This isn't just evolution; it's a step change that empowers our customers to solve problems faster."
