Dell unveils solutions to boost network cloud transition
Wed, 28th Feb 2024

Dell Technologies recently unveiled new solutions aimed at assisting communications service providers (CSPs) expedite their network cloud and operations transition. The new offerings aim to improve CSPs' economics and agility whilst maintaining network reliability, drawing on Dell's extensive experience in digital transformation and industry partnerships.

Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite, a software that simplifies the deployment and management of multi-vendor telecom infrastructure, is set for global release in April 2024. It has been designed based on open standards and APIs, integrating seamlessly into a CSP's network and providing flexible deployment and management of infrastructures across diverse, multi-vendor environments.

"As communication service providers integrate a broad ecosystem of technologies to build open, cloud-native networks, they need a simple way to deploy and manage infrastructure from multiple vendors across geographically distributed areas, without compromising network reliability or adding increased costs," commented Dennis Hoffman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Telecom Systems Business at Dell Technologies.

Among other features, Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite enables significant savings on configuration and provisioning, offers comprehensive telemetry on equipment temperature, CPU and memory utilisation, and provides proactive, predictive support with specialised insights. Moreover, by working with Amdocs Service Management and Orchestration for zero-touch deployment of the RAN, customers are empowered to deploy and manage disaggregated networks at scale.

Also set for a global release in May 2024 is Dell Telecom Infrastructure Block, which adds support for 5G core workloads at the edge and a Dell certification programme for industry partners to fast track network technology validation.

Globe Telecom utilised Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks for Red Hat to advance network cloud deployment and enhance network operations efficiency. "We’re building an open, cloud-native network with multiple vendors, so we can deliver the best network experience for our customers," said Vice President of Core Network Planning, Engineering and Implementation at Globe, James Lim. "That’s why we’re now partnering with Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks to do the validation and testing for us."

Additionally, Dell has introduced Dell Technologies Certification on Infrastructure Blocks. This certification programme tests and certifies 5G Core, OSS, BSS and open RAN workloads for use on Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks by partners including 6D Technologies, Casa Systems, Expeto and MATRIXX Software.

Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite will be globally available in April 2024. Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks for Red Hat enhancements will be globally available in April 2024. Dell Technologies Certification on Infrastructure Blocks is available globally now.
