Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17T Series in Australia, comprising the Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T.
The launch includes end-of-financial-year discounts that cut AUD $200 from every model, along with bonus gifts and storage upgrade offers on selected versions.
Both devices bring Leica co-engineered 5x optical telephoto imaging to the 17T line. Xiaomi said this is the first time the feature has appeared across the series rather than being limited to a single model.
Each phone uses a triple rear camera setup built around a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation. They also include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 32-megapixel front camera.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro adds higher-end video features, including 4K recording at 60 frames per second, 8K recording at 30 frames per second and 4K recording at 120 frames per second. It also includes a Stage mode designed for filming concerts and performances.
Pricing and offers
Xiaomi has made the 17T Series central to its wider EOFY retail push in Australia. The Xiaomi 17T starts at AUD $999 before the seasonal discount, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro starts at AUD $1,299 before the same reduction.
Under the promotional pricing, the Xiaomi 17T 256GB is reduced to AUD $799 and the Xiaomi 17T Pro 256GB to AUD $1,099. Xiaomi is also offering a storage upgrade voucher on selected models, bringing the 512GB Xiaomi 17T down to AUD $799 from AUD $1,199 and the 512GB Xiaomi 17T Pro down to AUD $1,099 from AUD $1,499.
Buyers of the Xiaomi 17T Pro will receive a REDMI Pad 2 tablet, while Xiaomi 17T buyers will get a travel pack containing REDMI Headphones Neo and a Xiaomi 67W Power Bank 20000mAh. Xiaomi said the combined effect of the price cut, gift offers and storage upgrades means customers can save up to AUD $400 across the series.
Xiaomi is also offering add-on pricing on several accessories and devices when bought with a 17T handset. These include the Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm from AUD $149, Xiaomi Buds 6 from AUD $114.5, Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro at AUD $74.5 and a 120W wall charger at AUD $29.5.
Hardware details
Beyond the camera changes, the two handsets differ in processor, battery size and display specifications. The Xiaomi 17T Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip and a 7,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 17T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra and a 6,500mAh battery.
The Pro model supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The standard 17T supports 67W charging.
Both phones feature AMOLED displays with 1.5K resolution and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The Xiaomi 17T Pro supports refresh rates up to 144Hz, while the Xiaomi 17T reaches 120Hz.
The displays also include Xiaomi's Vision Care system, which adjusts to ambient light and is designed to manage blue light, flicker and motion blur. Xiaomi said the 17T Series is the first in its portfolio to receive TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification and its first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification.
Each handset has IP68 water and dust resistance and runs Xiaomi HyperOS with Xiaomi HyperAI. The Xiaomi 17T Pro comes in Deep Blue, Deep Violet and Black, while the Xiaomi 17T is available in Violet, Blue and Black.
Wider device push
Alongside the smartphone launch, Xiaomi has expanded its connected device range in Australia with several new products included in the same EOFY sales campaign. These include the Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm, Xiaomi Buds 6, Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H50 Pro.
During the promotion, the Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm is priced at AUD $161.40, down from AUD $269. The Xiaomi Buds 6 are priced at AUD $137.40, down from AUD $229, while the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro is priced at AUD $89.40, down from AUD $149.
The steepest reduction applies to the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H50 Pro, listed at AUD $639.60, down from AUD $1,599. Xiaomi said its wider EOFY programme covers wearables, audio products, power banks, lifestyle technology and smart home devices with discounts of up to 40%, and cleaning products with discounts of up to 60%.
Xiaomi entered the Australian market in 2025 and has used smartphone launches to build a broader consumer electronics offering in the country. It said the 17T Series forms part of its Leica imaging partnership and extends that work into a lower price tier than its flagship models.
Jephix Liu, Director of Go-to-Market, Xiaomi Australia, outlined the commercial rationale for the launch timing. "Since launching in Australia in 2025, Xiaomi has focused on delivering premium tech at unmissable prices and launch offers that are genuinely hard to ignore," Liu said.
"Aussies are incredibly savvy shoppers, so we made sure to time the launch of the 17T Series around EOFY to deliver real value - combining flagship Leica imaging, premium performance and exciting bonus offers at a price point that stands out in the market," he said.
