Venafi launches SaaS machine identity products in Australia
Venafi has announced the launch of its SaaS machine identity security product portfolio in Australia, including TLS Protect Cloud, TLS Protect for Kubernetes, and Venafi Firefly.
The products will be hosted and delivered within Australia via software-as-a-service, enabling organisations to manage and secure machine identities across various environments while adhering to local regulatory frameworks, such as the Australian Privacy Act. The local infrastructure is expected to enhance performance and increase service availability for users in the region.
With the growing adoption of AI, cloud solutions, and application environments like Kubernetes, the security of machine identities is becoming increasingly important for organisations to manage risks and maintain efficiency. Research by CyberArk indicates that the complexity and volume of machine identities, including certificates, keys, secrets, and access tokens, are surging, surpassing the number of human identities. Moreover, 80% of Australian security leaders predict growth in machine identities within the next year, with 74% estimating an increase of up to 50%.
Venafi's SaaS product range leverages automation and centralised visibility to aid organisations in monitoring and securing machine identities within large enterprise networks. TLS Protect Cloud offers centralised lifecycle management of TLS certificates for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, automating processes such as issuance, renewal, and revocation to minimise risks associated with certificates.
Specifically designed for cloud-native applications, TLS Protect for Kubernetes aids security and platform teams in managing cloud-native machine identities, including TLS, mTLS, and SPIFFE. This solution seeks to bolster visibility, control, and automation over machine identity management in complex cloud-native infrastructures, improving application reliability and cutting development and operational costs.
Venafi Firefly, a lightweight workload identity issuer, automates the issuance and governance of machine identities in distributed cloud-native application environments. It aims to ensure enterprise security policy compliance and integrates directly into developer workflows.
Kurt Sand, General Manager of Machine Identity Security at CyberArk, stated, "Following the opening of CyberArk's new office in Melbourne, we are further expanding our commitment to the Australian market with the in-country availability of additional machine identity security capabilities to help local businesses tackle the most critical machine identity challenges. Combined with our market-leading secrets management solutions, this expansion marks a significant step toward empowering Australian organisations with the most comprehensive, end-to-end machine identity security platform – bringing together secrets management, certificate lifecycle management, public key infrastructure (PKI) and workload identity issuance under a single platform delivered through SaaS."
