Tufin acquires AKIPS enhancing network security capabilities
Network and cloud security policy management firm Tufin has announced the acquisition of AKIPS, a network monitoring company offering its customers real-time insights to enhance network performance. With this acquisition, Tufin enhances its capacity to provide customers with a comprehensive view of their operations, enabling faster detection and resolution of issues.
AKIPS caters to 250 customers worldwide, providing comprehensive product coverage for more than 90 vendors, including key players such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Cisco. Its award-winning network monitoring solution is designed to offer real-time insights into network performance. This approach empowers teams to address potential network performance issues proactively, ensuring they do not impact end-user experience.
This acquisition by Tufin, in combination with AKIPS' expertise, is set to deliver a unique offering to the market. Their complementary solutions equip customers with the necessary tools to maintain control of their increasingly complex security environments.
Ray Brancato, the CEO at Tufin, stated, "Enterprise networks are continuing to expand in scale and complexity, making managing and securing them an increasingly exacting task. Fast and cost-effective visibility and management tools are needed by IT and security teams to keep up with this constant expansion. The AKIPS award-winning network monitoring solution will enhance our ability to provide customers with a comprehensive view of their operations, helping speed up discovery and resolution times."
Mark Birkinshaw, the CEO of AKIPS, will continue with the company following the acquisition. He said, "Our solution is a perfect match for the end-to-end visibility and automation tools that Tufin provides. Enterprise IT teams are handling increasingly demanding roles requiring automation and information. By collaborating with Tufin, our customers can utilise the industry's best network security policy automation technology to overcome these challenges."
The Tufin platform has ratcheted up considerable success, helping more than 2,900 customers across various industries to enhance the efficiency of their security operations, and extend visibility and compliance readiness. Its Tufin Orchestration Suite was recently conferred the Top InfoSec Innovator Award for the Most Innovative Network Security and Management in 2023. The same year, it bagged the Security Today CyberSecured Award for Policy Management. The Tufin Partner Program was also refreshed in late 2023, reinforcing the company's channel-first approach. The acquisition of AKIPS is expected to build on these achievements and further enhance Tufin's market-leading offerings.
Brancato said, "Enterprise IT and security operations teams' responsibilities are increasing even while team sizes remain static. Meanwhile, the importance of uptime, performance, and security to any business's success continues to grow. That's why solutions providing visibility and management from a single point-of-access and automating tasks from vulnerability discovery to secure deployment are so critical."
"We believe that Tufin is perfectly positioned to cater to the need to improve efficiency across today's convoluted, multi-vendor hybrid networks."
