Tosi rebrand signals new era in secure OT network solutions
LAPP Australia's industrial automation partner Tosibox has rebranded as Tosi, signalling a shift from hardware supplier to a full cyber physical systems (CPS) platform provider.
The rebranding to Tosi, which means "true" in Finnish, reflects the organisation's renewed emphasis on engineering excellence and the delivery of software solutions that can be implemented swiftly. The company states that deployments can now be achieved in minutes, rather than the months typically required.
Brand evolution
LAPP Australia Managing Director, Simon Pullinger, described the transition as a significant milestone, noting its impact on the cybersecurity landscape for operational technology (OT) networks.
"After achieving record growth and innovation milestones, the new Tosi brand establishes the company as a leader in securing OT networks," says LAPP Australia Managing Director, Simon Pullinger.
Pullinger also emphasised that the rebranding would not affect ongoing client relationships or existing services: "The change won't affect existing products or services, with seamless support and operations continuing from LAPP as a platinum partner of Tosi. We will see an expansion of the Tosi offering, including TosiANTA (Advanced Network Traffic Analytics) to bring deeper visibility into OT and network behaviour, with a global rollout commencing soon," he adds.
According to Tosi, "The new Tosi brand embodies the company's strengths: Finnish engineering excellence, speed, simplicity, innovation, and proven reliability."
Implications for Australia
LAPP Australia views the change as a positive development for its operations and customer base. Pullinger noted that the new brand and platform approach would encourage closer collaboration and shared innovation.
"As one of Tosi's platinum partners in the region, LAPP Australia views this evolution as a strengthened foundation for collaboration, innovation, and customer value," says Pullinger.
The shift to a CPS and OT platform is designed to allow for better integration with industrial systems. As a result, LAPP customers will be able to develop end-to-end secure OT solutions. Enhanced integration is expected to result in more robust and secure network operations for sectors reliant on automation and industrial control.
The new Tosi platform prioritises rapid deployment and a reduction in the complexity typically associated with setting up secure networks. Pullinger highlighted the operational advantages, stating customers will be able to implement secure OT connectivity more efficiently, with less risk and disruption to their operations.
Support and global presence
TosiCARE, the new customer support framework, will offer a tiered approach to support, as well as professional services and training. These services will continue to be delivered regionally by LAPP Australia, leveraging local expertise and industry knowledge.
Tosi has also expanded its presence in the United States, a move that LAPP Australia believes will bolster customer confidence. The company's enhanced global footprint is expected to ensure customers benefit from both worldwide resources and localised support.
The roadmap for Tosi includes new asset management capabilities slated for late 2025 or early 2026. This will position Tosi and LAPP Australia to jointly address advanced requirements such as condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and the implementation of digital twins.
Future outlook
Pullinger believes the changes will allow LAPP and Tosi to provide customers with networks that are secure, efficient, and ready to meet the challenges of the future.
"We believe this evolution strengthens our joint proposition: to equip industrial and critical infrastructure businesses with cybersecure, efficient, and future-ready OT networks. We look forward to working closely with Tosi and our customers to unlock the full potential of connected, protected and controlled operations," concludes Pullinger.
