Superloop & Leaptel in AUD $4-5m backhaul partnership
Superloop has announced a partnership with Leaptel to provide Virtual Network to Network Interface (VNNI) backhaul services across Australia.
The partnership involves a three-year agreement estimated to be worth between AUD$4 million and AUD$5 million, making use of Superloop's Infrastructure-on-Demand platform. The deal includes providing backhaul to 121 nbn Point of Interconnects (POIs) and inter-capital ethernet services.
Paul Tyler, Chief Executive Officer at Superloop, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "As a leading wholesale broadband and backhaul provider, we're thrilled to welcome Leaptel aboard. Partnerships like this are key to our vision of the challenger segment of the telco market taking a collective 30% market share."
Leaptel's Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Enger, also commented on the significance of the partnership, "We're excited to partner with Superloop as we continue to connect more and more Aussies to flawless, rock-solid internet. Superloop's scalable backhaul solution will support us through our next phase of growth as we work to deliver higher speed tiers and launch multi-gigabit speeds for our customers in 2025."
Daisey Stampfer, Superloop Group Executive Business & Wholesale, highlighted the growth in demand for high-speed internet services provided by Leaptel. She stated, "Leaptel is one of the fastest growing nbn Retail Service Providers (RSPs) dedicated to delivering quality, reliable, high-speed internet. We're pumped that they've chosen Superloop as their backhaul partner."
Stampfer also emphasised the compatibility of the two companies, "Superloop and Leaptel are young, fast, and flexible companies committed to delivering a refreshing internet experience to customers, making us a great match. Superloop wholesale enables challenger RSPs like Leaptel to leverage our network investment by offering flexibility, reliability and bespoke solutions. Our VNNI backhaul solution aligns perfectly with Leaptel's expansion needs."
She concluded by noting the forward-looking approach of the collaboration, "Together, we're delivering solutions built for the future, giving customers across Australia the service they deserve."
This news follows Superloop's Canstar Blue win announcement. Further promoting the company's focus on striking the balance between quality and cost, the company won Canstar Blue's High Speed nbn Plan award for Outstanding Value.
As Superloop Chief Marketing Officer, Ben Colman said, "We reckon reliable, high-speed internet is something every Australian deserves. And it should be affordable. You shouldn't have to sacrifice speed and experience because you're priced out of the right plan for your needs."
Founded in 2014, and listed on the ASX since 2015, Superloop's purpose is to enable better internet for Australian homes and businesses. The company is focused on enabling challenger retail brands (including Superloop and Exetel) to take a larger share of the market, leveraging Superloop's Infrastructure-on-Demand platform.
Superloop provides connectivity and services to customers in three segments of the market: consumer, business and wholesale. The offerings leverage Superloop's investments in physical infrastructure assets that include fibre, subsea cables and fixed wireless, as well as Superloop's software platforms.
