Samsung launches Galaxy S25 Edge in Australia from AUD $1,849

Yesterday

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S25 Edge, described as the slimmest device in its S series lineup, is now available for purchase in Australia.

The Galaxy S25 Edge features a thickness of 5.8mm and a weight of 163g. According to Samsung, the device is positioned as a smartphone combining design with performance, brought together in a slimmer and lighter construction than previous S series models.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, the same processor used across the entire Galaxy S25 series. Samsung said this enables users to access performance capabilities associated with the wider S25 range, regardless of the device's reduced size and weight.

In Australia, the Galaxy S25 Edge is offered in three colour options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Icyblue and Titanium Jetblack. The pricing is set at AUD $1,849 for the 256GB model and AUD $2,049 for the 512GB version.

Launch offers are available through major telecom operators. Telstra customers can save AUD $300 on both the 256GB and 512GB variants when purchasing on a plan. Vodafone is offering a discount of AUD $200 on the 256GB model, AUD $250 on the 512GB version, and an additional AUD $300 bonus for eligible trade-ins, available through 30 June. Terms and conditions apply to these offers.

The device includes Samsung's Galaxy AI capabilities, which the company reports are integrated into all user interactions. Features such as Now Brief and Now Bar require users to log in with a Samsung account and may require network connections. Availability of some Galaxy AI features and services may vary depending on country, device, language, and app, and there may be fees for certain features after 2025.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with a 200MP camera and incorporates what Samsung describes as next-generation Nightography technology to support low-light photography. The camera specifications are aligned with the capabilities introduced in the S25 Ultra device.

Nathan Rigger, Head of Product, Mobile eXperience at Samsung Australia, said: "The brand new Galaxy S25 Edge is a triumph of engineering, packing power, high performance hardware, and a pro-level camera into an ultra-slim design. It delivers the perfect balance of style, functionality and advanced features for Australians, without compromising on quality."

Samsung emphasised that Now Brief and Now Bar, among other Galaxy AI features, are designed to deliver an intuitive and context-aware mobile experience. The availability and access to these features depend on various factors including device model and app compatibility. Certain features may require user consent and access permissions such as for photos, videos, audio files, and calendar events.

From today, the Galaxy S25 Edge devices are available across Australia through Samsung channels and retail partners. The company did not indicate any changes to availability or pricing beyond the current offers and colour options.
