Orange Business partners with Sat.One for LEO connectivity

Today

Orange Business has announced a partnership with Perth-based Sat.One to deliver enhanced connectivity to businesses operating in remote locations across Australia and New Zealand.

This strategic collaboration will utilise Eutelsat's OneWeb low-earth-orbit (LEO) technology to provide high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity, addressing the critical connectivity needs of industries such as mining, oil and gas, which are pivotal to the economies of both countries.

The agreement falls under the multi-year contract previously signed by Sat.One to supply OneWeb LEO satellite services in the region. This initiative extends Orange's global 2023 agreement with Eutelsat to support customers locally across various sectors including the public and financial services sectors.

Andrew Borthwick, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand at Orange Business, highlighted the importance of the partnership given the remote nature of many Australian industries. "Given the vast and remote nature of Australia, many of our key industries operate in hard-to-reach locations that require reliable, seamless and secure connectivity. At Orange Business, we understand the critical role that these industries play in the country's economy, and we are committed to supporting them with innovative digital infrastructure," he stated.

Borthwick further elaborated, "That's why we are thrilled to partner with Sat.One to deliver Eutelsat's OneWeb LEO technology to businesses across Australia. By combining our expertise with Sat.One's, we can provide enterprise customers with high-speed access to digital information, productivity tools, and cloud services, even in the most remote locations. This partnership represents a significant step towards ensuring that critical industries such as mining, construction, and resources have the connectivity they need to thrive, and we are proud to be part of this initiative."

CEO of Sat.One, Daniel Fairbairn, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "We are excited and proud to announce our partnership with Orange Business to bring transformative Enterprise Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) connectivity to Australia and New Zealand. Orange Business is a trusted partner for digital transformation, offering a comprehensive portfolio of services to enterprises, and this collaboration between Sat.One and Orange is pivotal for enterprises facing the challenges of connectivity."

Fairbairn continued, "By leveraging Orange Business's global footprint and knowledge and combining it with Sat.One's expertise in Enterprise LEO, we create a powerful synergy. Our joint efforts deliver dependable, high-speed connectivity solutions across land, mobile, and marine domains. Sat.One, a trusted organisation for Enterprise LEO, exemplifies our commitment to providing unmatched connectivity that fuels innovation and operational excellence. Together, we enhance digital infrastructure, ushering in a new era of connectivity that fosters growth and resilience in a dynamic landscape."

The partnership is set to transform operations and enhance productivity for businesses located in previously underserved regions, offering significant benefits such as increased efficiency, improved safety, and access to advanced digital tools. High-quality, low-latency service is expected to improve user satisfaction, site communications, safety, efficiency, and geographical reach for enterprise solutions and backhauling.

Sat.One, since its establishment in 2021, has focused on revolutionising enterprise connectivity with LEO satellite technology, bridging the digital divide across Australia and New Zealand through strategic partnerships and tailored communications solutions in collaboration with industry leaders.
