Optus partners with Dicker Data to expand mobile services reach

Yesterday

Optus and Dicker Data have announced a strategic distribution partnership to provide Australian businesses with access to Optus' mobile fleet solutions through Dicker Data's reseller network.

The agreement establishes Dicker Data as the first distributor in Australia to offer mobile services, in what both companies describe as a move to accelerate business connectivity and operational efficiency in the enterprise and mid-market sectors.

The partnership allows Dicker Data's nationwide base of reseller partners to supply Optus' mobile offerings, marking an expansion in the distribution channel available to Optus and forming a key component of its broader channel strategy.

Distribution reach

Ben Vella, Vice President Enterprise and Mid Market at Optus, described the significance of the new arrangement, noting the mutual commitment to delivering benefits to business customers through established networks.

Optus works with the best partners in the industry in order to deliver the best outcomes for our customers. This partnership with Dicker Data represents a significant step forward in our channel strategy, giving us access to their proven distribution network and deep market relationships to reach more businesses with our world class network and our unique mobile fleet solutions.

He went on to say, "We're focused on accelerating business performance together with our partners and by combining Optus' mobile expertise with Dicker Data's distribution strength, we're creating new opportunities for Australian businesses to leverage mobile technology as a competitive advantage."

The partnership is designed specifically to support mid-market and enterprise customers, providing offerings such as mobile device management, cost optimisation, secure networking and streamlined fleet administration through the existing Dicker Data partner ecosystem.

Telco services for the channel

Vlad Mitnovetski, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at Dicker Data, commented on the creation of the new Telco division within Dicker Data and the reasoning for selecting Optus as a partner.

With the launch of our new Telco division, we're committed to delivering a suite of Telco services from trusted brands with solutions that not only deliver exceptional technical quality but also redefine the decades old models of how Telco services have been traditionally delivered through the channel. Optus is a strong fit for this model, and we're pleased to be partnering with them to provide our partners with access to their world class network.

Jason Hall, General Manager of Services for Dicker Data, noted the shift in approach to delivering telecommunications services via the distributor channel. He said, "It's no longer a case of the channel fitting the Telco model anymore. In partnership with Optus, we'll be able to deliver Telco services that fits the channel."

Operational details

Optus states that the partnership is now in effect and that Dicker Data partners are able to offer Optus' mobile products and services immediately to their customers across Australia.

This move is part of a larger strategy from Optus to broaden its reach to businesses through comprehensive go-to-market approaches for its mobile solutions, engaging resellers more directly in the supply of business communications services.
