Microlise & Logmaster team up to boost transport safety tools
Microlise has confirmed a new integration with Logmaster to enhance safety, health and compliance solutions for Australian transport operators.
Logmaster, accredited by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), specialises in fatigue compliance and Electronic Work Diary (EWD) solutions. Through the partnership, Logmaster's fatigue management tools are now directly accessible within the Microlise platform, aiming to simplify compliance processes and support driver safety in road transport fleets.
Fatigue risk
The partnership comes as fatigue remains a central focus within the Australian road transport sector. Recent NHVR safety initiatives have highlighted ongoing risks, with a week-long operation in June 2025 intercepting 2,985 vehicles and recording 131 breaches of fatigue requirements. Microlise says the new integration is intended to assist operators in meeting fatigue management obligations and reducing related administrative burdens.
"Driver fatigue remains one of the most critical safety challenges in the transport sector," said Luke Olsen, Managing Director - APAC at Microlise. "By integrating Logmaster into our platform, we're simplifying compliance, safeguarding drivers and giving operators greater confidence in managing their daily operations."
With fatigue non-compliance proven to be an area of concern, embedding work diary and compliance tools within daily fleet operations is viewed as an essential step. The combined solution is designed to provide visibility over work and rest periods for both drivers and fleet managers, supporting better decision-making and risk management across transport businesses.
Electronic Work Diary access
One core feature of the integration is direct access to Logmaster's Electronic Work Diary through the Microlise SmartPOD app. This means drivers are prompted in real-time to record start times, finish times and required rest breaks, aiming to reduce manual data entry errors and the reliance on paper logbooks.
For fleet managers overseeing compliance across large vehicle fleets, the integration allows driver and vehicle information to be created and maintained only once in the Microlise portal. Details are synchronised automatically with Logmaster, eliminating duplication and supporting efficient onboarding processes.
The synchronisation is intended to reduce administrative overheads and increase the consistency of recordkeeping, which can help operators demonstrate compliance with fatigue regulations and meet their Chain of Responsibility obligations.
Connected data for compliance
Microlise's Connected Fleets integration enables cross-referencing between vehicle telematics data and Logmaster's fatigue management records. This approach is designed to provide operators with stronger assurance of compliance as well as support for driver wellbeing.
According to Microlise, the ability to consolidate driver activity and vehicle location data strengthens protections against fatigue-related incidents and disruption in fleet operations.
Josh Saunders, Co-founder and Managing Director at Logmaster, emphasised the potential operational benefits of the new system.
"Drivers and office staff can now access the same real-time data, eliminating confusion and streamlining fatigue management. With features like trip planning and automated breach alerts, operators gain confidence while maintaining consistent standards across multiple depots. Through seamless integration with Microlise - and the ability to pair and reference telematics data with driver fatigue data - we're not just simplifying compliance; we're making it smarter," said Josh Saunders.
The partnership is described as combining telematics solutions with accredited fatigue management to promote safer drivers and improved compliance throughout the Australian transport sector.
Market developments
Following EWD accreditation, Logmaster has been widely adopted in the sector for its fatigue management approach. Industry participants expect technologies that strengthen compliance processes while limiting the administrative impact on drivers and office staff to play an important role in operational efficiency and road safety outcomes nationally.
The Microlise-Logmaster integration is now available to users, with further features and deeper functionality anticipated in future updates.
