Huawei collects four accolades in optical access field at two international events
Tue, 31st Oct 2023

Chinese tech giant, Huawei, has clinched four accolades at BBWF 2023 and ECOC 2023, two major global events in the fixed network field. Recognition includes the 'Outstanding FTTH Service', 'Outstanding POL Use Case', and the 'Outstanding Smart Home Operator' awards with China Unicom at BBWF 2023. Additionally, Huawei's FTTR solution earned the 'Most Innovative PON/5G/FTTx Product Award' at the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Glasgow.

This marks the fifth consecutive year Huawei has received awards in the broadband field at BBWF, highlighting the industry's appreciation of Huawei's consistent innovation efforts. In the field of FTTR - Fibre To The Room - the industry has once again acknowledged Huawei's technological advancement and business achievements.

Represented by home-oriented FTTH, campus-oriented F5G all-optical campus, and 10G access-oriented 50G PON solutions, Huawei pioneered the advancement of all-optical premium broadband networks. These innovations enhance broadband value in terms of bandwidth, experience, and network extension. Critical accomplishments include the 50G PON, which facilitates 10G upgrade, intelligent poor-QoE analysis and experience assurance, and FTTR, extending fibres from homes to rooms, offices, and machines, offering ultra-gigabit services.

Huawei, as a first mover, offers the FTTR solution and launched 1000 Mbps and 2000 Mbps commercial packages in collaboration with over 30 global operators. The FTTR solution serves more than 8 million users and provides premium Wi-Fi experiences, including 2000 Mbps Wi-Fi coverage, 20 ms roaming handover latency, and concurrent connections of up to 256 IoT devices. As a top-tier solution, Huawei's FTTR launches rich FTTR+X smart home applications, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of operators and opening up a trillion-dollar growth horizon.

Huawei also introduced the industry's first commercial 50G PON ultra-broadband access solution, tested at more than 50 locations. This product delivers 10G all-optical access, a five-fold increase in bandwidth, and 100-fold latency reduction, guaranteeing a significantly improved user experience compared to prior editions. Huawei's 50G PON is the pioneering commercial solution supporting symmetric bandwidths, triple-mode integration, and ultra-high optical power budget, providing a cost-effective evolution path for 10G services.
