4Cabling expands with new Western Australia distribution centre
4Cabling is expanding its operations further by developing a new distribution centre in Western Australia. This forms the latest phase in a three-year national growth programme aimed at providing enhanced service standards for customers in the data, electrical, and networking sectors across Australia.
Strategic relocations
Since early 2023, 4Cabling has enacted a series of relocations and facility upgrades. The company moved its head office and New South Wales operations to Homebush West, securing increased logistics capacity and better transport connections. In Victoria, 4Cabling expanded operations by relocating to a larger site in Altona to address higher market demand, strengthen warehousing capabilities, and speed up fulfilment across Melbourne and adjacent areas. Queensland's growth prompted a move to Archerfield, Brisbane, which brought expanded warehousing and the installation of a local fibre cutting facility.
Western Australia focus
The latest expansion in Western Australia will see 4Cabling relocate to a larger distribution centre with advanced fibre-termination facilities. This investment aims to enable local design, assembly, and delivery of custom fibre solutions. By manufacturing and terminating fibre directly in Western Australia, the company plans to reduce lead times, increase project flexibility, and provide improved on-site support for the commercial, industrial, mining, education, government, and infrastructure sectors.
The move aligns with ongoing investments in Western Australia's digital infrastructure, transport, and smart technology. The ability to support major projects locally is intended to bolster the region's resources and technology landscape.
Customer proximity
Customer proximity has been a key element in 4Cabling's recent growth strategy. By establishing and upgrading facilities in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and now Western Australia, the company has aimed to reduce delivery times and streamline fulfilment for time-sensitive customers. This approach is designed to ensure consistent, scalable support for projects of varying size and complexity.
Omni-channel supply
4Cabling supports over 170,000 customers across Australia and New Zealand, including contractors, resellers, system integrators, corporates, SMEs, educational providers, government organisations, and wholesalers. The company maintains an omni-channel model, with a notable product range that encompasses structured cabling, fibre, server racks, cable management, and networking infrastructure. Customers can engage via eCommerce, retail, or dedicated project teams, depending on their requirements.
Industry and employment
The investment in Western Australia is part of a broader commitment to developing local capability and supporting local employment. With Australia-owned status, 4Cabling emphasises the reinforcement of national supply chains and support for local jobs in the regions in which it operates.
