Macquarie Cloud Services named Australia’s top graduate employer
Macquarie Cloud Services has been ranked as the leading workplace for graduates in Australia, according to Prosple's careers and education platform.
The Prosple AU Top 100 Guide features Macquarie Cloud Services as number one overall out of more than 700 graduate employers, including major technology companies such as Cisco, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Canva. The guide, which is aimed at assisting students and recent graduates as they consider their career options, combines student popularity metrics, such as page views and applications, with graduate satisfaction reviews to derive its rankings.
Macquarie Cloud Services secured the top position as both Australia's best workplace for graduates and the number one cybersecurity workplace for graduates. The company also led in the categories of career progression, training and development, meaningful work, and culture.
Top of the rankings
Naveen Gera, Head of Service Assurance at Macquarie Cloud Services, commented on the results, stating:
"This achievement is testament to the incredible experience we offer early-career talent. We provide an unmatched career launchpad for graduates. Our investment in our people, our employment strategy, and our workforce reflect this. These rankings show that when you are a part of Macquarie Cloud Services, you are working with the best."
The graduate programme at Macquarie Cloud Services began in 2012, initially onboarding five graduates. Since then, 282 people have participated in the programme, including 53 current graduates and 156 previous graduates, with 73 of those still employed within Macquarie Technology Group.
The company's four-year graduate programme was designed to develop employees in areas aligned with the organisation's evolving business needs. The programme was also created in response to the aspirations of early-career professionals seeking structured development and advancement opportunities.
Employee value proposition
The employee value proposition (EVP) at Macquarie Cloud Services encompasses five key dimensions: culture, work life, organisation, opportunity, and reward. This framework aims to ensure each graduate receives the opportunity for career advancement, flexibility, workplace support, and appropriate compensation.
Gera explained the approach Macquarie Cloud Services takes with new graduates:
"Each graduate is provided with six-monthly certifications training, on the job learning, time off to study, and incremental salary increases. It's a win-win situation for everyone. We know everyone's path is not the same, so we tailor the various pathways and opportunities to the individual and ensure the next 10 years of their career at Macquarie Technology Group is mapped out. This takes the onus off the graduates to find a role on their own. Instead, we assess where they can be successful and combine it with the path they would like to take, to help them find a suitable role,"
Programme impact
The company highlights that its graduate programme plays a significant role in its broader workplace culture. Gera stated:
"Graduates know that at Macquarie Cloud Services, they'll be learning, progressing, and doing meaningful work in a field related to their studies."
The latest ranking on Prosple's careers and education platform follows years of development of graduate-focused opportunities at Macquarie Cloud Services. According to the company, this focus on early-career development is reflected in the high retention rate of graduates within the broader Macquarie Technology Group.
Graduate feedback collected via the Prosple platform contributed to the company's top rankings in training and development, meaningful work, and company culture, as well as career progression. Macquarie Cloud Services attributes these results to its ongoing investment in workforce development and its commitment to tailoring career pathways to individual graduates.
