Tue, 24th Sep 2024

amaysim has announced a significant expansion into the home internet market with the launch of its new NBN plans. This move sees the mobile provider transforming into a full-service telecommunications company. The introduction of these home internet plans aims to address consumer dissatisfaction with existing NBN services and offer more affordable and reliable options.

They introduced four new NBN plans designed to cater to various household needs, offering speeds of up to 240Mbps. The plans include the Quick As Plan with 25Mbps download and 8Mbps upload speeds for AUD $60 per month (AUD $70 after six months); the Speedy As Plan with 50Mbps download and 18Mbps upload speeds for AUD $75 per month (AUD $85 after six months); the Fast As Plan offering 100Mbps download and 18Mbps upload speeds for AUD $80 per month (AUD $90 after six months); and the Superfast As Plan, which delivers 240Mbps download and 22Mbps upload speeds for AUD $90 per month (AUD $100 after six months).

Additionally, existing amaysim mobile customers will continue to enjoy the introductory prices beyond the first six months, providing added value for current subscribers. These plans are tailored to meet the diverse needs of households, ensuring customers have options that align with their internet usage requirements.

Vir Inder Nath, Vice President of amaysim, expressed the company's commitment to disrupting the NBN market. "Our entrance into the NBN market isn't just about expanding our services. We are committing to changing the way Australians experience home internet. Our recent research findings clearly show Australians are tired of overpaying for subpar service. amaysim is here to offer something better—fast, affordable, and reliable home internet that puts control back in the hands of the customer. Just as we have challenged the mobile market, we're ready to disrupt the home internet landscape with the same dedication to value and customer love that has won us the loyalty of close to two million Aussies."

The launch comes after research commissioned by amaysim highlighted significant consumer frustration with current NBN offerings. According to their findings, 92% of Australians have broadband at home, 60% seek more affordable options, and 70% are willing to switch providers for better value and service reliability. This data underscores the market's appetite for more competitive and dependable internet services.

The new amaysim Home Internet plans emphasise several customer-friendly features, including no lock-in contracts, the option to use an existing modem, and an easy-to-navigate app for managing services. Additionally, customers can benefit from a satisfaction guarantee, offering a money-back option if they decide to cancel within the first 30 days of connection. The company is also focused on providing exceptional customer service, supported by a well-trained call centre team to handle any queries.

Initial customer interest appears robust, with amaysim reporting over 25,000 expressions of interest and around 1,200 sign-ups for beta testing shortly after announcing the new services. This early response suggests that many Australians are eager for an alternative to their current providers.

amaysim's reputation in the mobile sector, recognised for its customer satisfaction and low complaint ratios with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, positions it strongly to extend its customer-centric approach to home internet services. This new initiative marks a significant step for the company as it broadens its service portfolio and offers customers more mobile and home internet connectivity options.
